Jonathan D. Smith is a vice president at Fairmount Partners. For more than eleven years, Mr. Smith has focused on providing a combination of merger and acquisition (exclusive buy-side and sell-side), private placement (growth capital, recapitalizations and refinancings), and general financial advisory services to both entrepreneurial and family-run companies in the healthcare services and technology, business and information technology services, software, and industrial technology sectors. He has been a key member of deal teams that have executed middle-market mergers and acquisitions and placements of equity, subordinated debt, and senior debt totaling more than $1.5 billion for both public and private companies.

Prior to joining Fairmount in April 2005, Mr. Smith was an associate at Brentwood Capital Advisors, a boutique investment bank focused on raising institutional capital (private equity, subordinated debt, and senior debt), principally for healthcare companies. Before working for Brentwood Capital, he was a financial analyst at Robert W. Baird & Co., a regional investment bank with concentrated efforts on sell-side M&A and public equity offerings.

Mr. Smith received his B.B.A., magna cum laude, in finance from Loyola University Maryland. Mr. Smith is registered with FINRA and is Series 7 and 63-licensed.
