QUINTILES ACQUIRES CENTRAL AMERICAN RESEARCH ORGANIZATION
Bio-Trials to Complement Existing Quintiles Latin American
Organization
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – October 30, 2007 – Quintiles
Transnational Corp. today announced that its Latin American subsidiary
has purchased Bio-Trials, a leading Central American Clinical Research
Organization (CRO) with headquarters in Panama and offices in Costa
Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador and Peru.
Bio-Trials provides clinical monitoring, clinical site coordination,
regulatory support, study management and supply distribution services.
It has conducted about 30 clinical trials in 10 Central and South
American countries, and its customers have included a number of major
pharmaceutical companies and global CROs.

well-established team as well as access to an experienced network of
independent investigators in the increasingly important Central American

In addition to its offices, Bio-Trials has supply distribution points
in Panama, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Peru.
